Neurology and Neurosurgery

Our neurosciences services are provided through two divisions, the Department of Neurology and the Department of Neurosurgery.
The Department of Neurology and the Department of Neurosurgery offer comprehensive evaluation, consultation and management of the central and peripheral nervous systems, the neuromuscular system, and diseases of the brain.
Our doctors have special expertise in the following areas: stroke, seizures, movement, memory and behavioral disorders and nerve and muscle disorders. Our neurosurgeons specialize in minimally invasive treatments for brain tumors, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, spinal disorders and carotid artery disease.
Tufts Medical Center’s facilities, such as the Brain Tumor Center, are multidisciplinary in approach, bringing together practitioners from a wide background to focus on specific diseases. Other centers reflect our focus in minimally invasive surgery. One such center is the Gamma Knife Center, which provides state-of-the-art, highly accurate, minimally invasive treatment for conditions including brain tumors.
Several multidisciplinary treatment centers help our Department of Neurosurgery streamline patient care and allow for comprehensive management of complex disorders:
