Surgical Services

Tufts Medical Center's Department of Surgery provides a complete range of general surgical services and surgical specialties. Our Department features multidisciplinary programs for optimal treatment of cancer, obesity, diseases of the intestinal tract, breast, biliary tree, pancreas, spleen, endocrine systems and cardiovascular system.

 

We offer state-of-the-art operating suites equipped for the most sophisticated surgical procedures including minimally invasive laparoscopic gastric bypass procedures, aortic endografts and the full spectrum of video assisted procedures. The recovery room and adjacent surgical intensive care unit are staffed by attending physicians and residents on a 24-hour basis.  

 

Our Department of Surgery remains a leader in the area of minimally invasive surgery. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repair, endovascular repair of aortic aneurysms, and other minimally invasive procedures, which allow patients to return to daily activities with a markedly shortened recovery time.
